Scaffolding

Inspired by the shape of the pitcher plant, I cast a clay structure inside of hydrocal to form my cubes. These became the basis for the scaffolding structure.

By cutting the hydrocal cube into sections, it revealed solids, voids, and textures. I used these as a point to frame views around, studying these various explorations.

The acetate pieces create a new dimension of colour, and visual interruption, skewing our perception of each hydrocal piece in a different way.

Prior to removing the clay, we see how the forms have been changed through the cutting process
